Creekside Elementary holds "Science Week at the Creek"
Creekside Elementary kicked off its "Science Week at the Creek" yesterday with robotics and dry ice demonstrations and learning about the weather! Thanks to volunteer speakers News 14 Carolina meteorologist Lee Ringer, UNC assistant professor of Interactive and Multimedia Steven King, and retired GSK employee Kim Moore, the students had a great time trying to make their own robots and learning about dry ice and NC weather. There will be more presentations Thursday and Friday to make sure that every student in the school has an opportunity to hear from these amazing scientists!
The week will culminate with Science Night on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 6-8 p.m. where more than 100 student science projects will be on display. The NC Fossil Club, Duke Chemistry and Physics departments, NCCU biology department, Chapel Hill Astronomy club, a NASA volunteer, amateur radio operators and more will provide science demonstrations and hands-on activities for all attendees. Please stop by and see the amazing things the students at Creekside are learning!
